The leading Slovak IT company ESET is known as a pioneer in the field of antivirus protection, which creates award-winning threat detection software used in more than 200 countries around the world. In turn, ESET is the largest IT company in Slovakia, for which more than 1,400 employees work worldwide.
The company ESET approached us at a time when it was looking for a way to speed up and simplify the inventory processes of its property. Until then, they used bar code technology for asset inventory, this solution did not suit them for several reasons, and therefore they approached us with a request for a solution for asset registration and inventory using RFID technology. Already after the first meeting and after consulting the actual requirements and needs of the customer, we concluded that RFID technology is not the most suitable solution for ESET’s property inventory needs and we recommended them to stick with barcodes and implement our modern solution for property registration E V I D E I. Compared to the previous solution, thanks to the EVIDEI software, ESET was able to make better use of the possibilities of barcode technology in asset inventory. And not only during the physical inventory and scanning of property, but thanks to the rich functionality of the PC application of the EVIDEI software, also during the processing and evaluation of the inventory results. The merit of the EVIDEI software was the possibility of using the existing marking of the property with the original barcodes, while it was not necessary to re-mark all the property. We introduced a new marking system on the newly acquired property.
